Croatia...One of the most popular destinations today.

April 25-May 6

Reserve a couple weeks the end of May for an adventure to Croatia and Slovenia with a stop in Venice, Italy.

Croatia’s rich and diverse history is still conspicuous throughout the country. Dubrovnik, for instance, with its medieval walls and palaces, is both one of the oldest cities and one of the youngest capitals in Europe. The enormous palace in Split was built in the 4th century and the downtown area of Zagreb exemplifies nine centuries of historic buildings, parks and promenades including one of the oldest outdoor cafes in Europe. Opatija takes its name from its Benedictine abby, but it also has a villa built by Emperor Franz Joseph for escape from the Austrian winters.

After nearly a decade of unrest, Croatia is ready to show visitors its magnificent coastline, Roman ruins and picturesque medieval villages. Its fast becoming the rival to the Greek Islands. There is a special atmosphere to Croatian towns and villages, many of which are built on the sites of ancient Greek settlements dating from the 4th century BC. Coupled with a welcoming people, Mediterranean climate, scenic beauty, Dalmatian coast line and lush vegetation, Croatia has risen from the ashes of war into one of the world’s tourist hotspots.

We’ll also stop at Slovenia’s beautiful resort area of Lake Bled and the imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake.

This will be a great trip for those of you who are looking for another one of those special unique areas to visit
